Nearly all former RCT Presidents lined up to say a few words of recognition, thank you, and personal anecdotes: Bart Sasse and Hans Verschuur sent regards and a note, and Jan Dirk eloquently lead to a series of meer of minder short presentations by Edwin, Dominiek, Birgit, Arnoud, Simon, Eric, and Hanneke. Erik Boers eventually couldn't make it this evening.
Eventually, our actual President Johan took the stage, added his thanks and offered "the highest distinction that a Rotary member ever can get": by unanimous decision of the board, Honorary Membership was offered to Wolter. Wolter is the second Honorary Member of RC Tervuren, after Leo Verbruggen.
Wolter then thanked everybody for twelve years in the club: the fun part, multiple fellowship activities, the Lustrum, many interesting people he had the opportunity to meet during his membership, including kissing Marlene de Wouters and visiting her house. He also spoke about the social activities, GITO, and other engagements of himself and the club. He offered a special personal prize to Karsten as the most active and committed newcomer Committee President (Youth) - a well-deserved, unexpected and undisputed recognition.
Karen van Herck, Director of GITO, took the opportunity to thank Wolter for all his contributions to GITO and hands over a 'Topcoach' recognition with signatures of different GITO members.
